I know I’m a bit early which makes a change from being late, but I’ll be away on 1st. October so I’m doing this now.

We all take photos of people and have them in our collection. Perhaps you have some that didn’t quite come off and would like some advice from our experienced members. Now’s your chance. It could be a photo of just one person or a group interacting with each other. Let’s see your work.

I’m looking forward to attending our first meeting of the new season next Thursday 8th. September. The happy feeling seemed to be a good subject for a monthly theme topic. Sometimes we take photography to seriously so here’s an opportunity for you to so us your funny pictures or just ones that make us smile.

August’s Monthly Theme is ‘Shutter speed for Effect’

Unfortunately Ron Smith is too poorly to give us a monthly theme this month so I’ve come up with ‘Shutter speed for effect’. The idea is for members to experiment using different shutter speeds and see how creative they can be. So there’s no definite subject matter you’re in control to produce the effect you want.

July’s Monthly Theme is ‘Round and Red’

June’s Monthly Theme – 50 Metres from your front door

You don’t have to go far to take a picture for June’s theme. Less than 50 metres in fact. I phoned Ron Smith and he recommended this theme as he had successfully used it when he used to set us his assignments. You don’t have to go far and there’s no restriction on when the photograph was taken, so it might be as close as you computer.


May’s Monthly Theme is Warm

The monthly theme for March gives you plenty of scope to use your imagination to experiment with colours. While to many colours can cause confusion, the use of few can be easier to control and be more effective. The subject matter is open, it’s just the clever use of colour that we’re looking for.
