Just to participate. Tewkesbury last Sunday. This SPACE in the hedge gives a view of the Abbey which I have taken before. I like the contrast between the natural tangle and the architecture. Natural v carpentered.

John >>> Nice framing with the space in the hedge.

Merv >>> I particularly like how you’ve captured the space between their hands.

Thanks Ken, I’m trying my best. Sometimes it works, more often than not it doesn’t 🙂 It’s not a selfie by the way lol

I love your church photograph….simply because I love church interiors and you’ve captured this one beautifully. Which church is it?

The church Melvin is St, Mary”s Crewe–very beautiful it is. I have been negotiating for two/three weeks and all have been so kind and helpful. It is important to ask permission to photograph in churches and cathedrals and abide by the rules. Also in my opinion to make a small donation in return for the help and support given. We are lucky in Crewe as I find it has so many photogenic features.

I wouldn’t have imagined it was quite so ornate inside Ken. I’ve lived in Crewe for 47 years and have walked or driven past St Mary’s on countless occasions without taking much notice. Shocking how much we miss.

Mervin, like the boy and mother very much. It looks like it is a bronze somewhere and I like the way you have silhouetted it and made the most of the key element which the artist has used, that tiny gap between Mum’s hand and the boys.

For me this is by far the most apposite photograph posted so far for just that reason and may well prove to be the best offering we see this month. Well done; I am really looking forward to what you enter in our competitions next season. It works better in fact without the brighter sunlit area – why?

The mother and child sunset is a lovely shot Mervin.  This would probably do very well in competition.  Very much looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!

Thanks John, glad you like it. It is, though, two very real people. There were a family of four coming off the beach as the sun was setting and the Mother and child were silhouetted against the sky. I took quite a few shots, including a nice one of the boy in his Mum’s arms, but I liked this one the best … mainly because it was the moment just before their hands met.

The position of the sun was forced on me by the road I was walking along but I’m glad it was as I like that too.

Yep, definitely pretty chuffed with that one, though I looked at it again and was tempted to do a wide shot like this:

I’m looking forward to some competitions D, but then again maybe not! Not sure if I could take someone picking my masterpieces apart 😉

Ken >>> It was indeed a cracking sunset, had a couple of them while we were away.
