John >>> It’s good, and, as you say, the internal echoes are very pleasing.

(Odd, but I rather like it rotated 90 degrees clockwise in landscape.)

Nice contrasting photo Dolores, the sky isn’t burnt out or the shadows lost. Like the two canal boats acting as diagonals as well as the fisherman and his fishing rod.

Very nice, Dee:  boats and bank and path, and the movement of the narrow boat in the top image, all carried on diagonals;  and boats and bank and path, and the movement of the echoed pair of couples in the lower one working similarly.  (And you even got diagonal vapour trails in the sky of ‘Sunday Stroll’!)

Thanks Ian and Meg, I was quite pleased with those vapour trails.  I did think I could have stepped to the right to enhance the diagonals (hard to do on your knees) but … all in all I like these.

It’s amazing how many diagonals there can be in a picture once you start looking.  I especially like the tyre tracks on the zebra crossing.  Nice one Ian.

Thanks, Dee. It is a bit of a diagonals feast, isn’t it?!

Not a lot different to the others but as I took this for the assignment I though I might as well post it before the month ends.

This is my first photo ever to get 1000+ views on Flickr. As of 20:30 on 27/2/13 it has 1,257 views / 37 favorites / 17 comments. I guess this is because it was chosen by the Flickr Team as one of the 500 ‘images of the day’ – a set that comprises 0.005% of the day’s Flickr uploads. Fame at last! 😉
