The first entry of yours is just mesmerising Kath and how good to see someone else trying the still life!
Just back from a couple of days in the Yorkshire Dales and in Askrigg they had a freshly painted post box that I spotted from 100m, but on getting to it I noticed another “round and red* which just had to be included!
It took me a while to spot the extra red and round items – not sure what they are or if they are in fact a reflection. I would have probably been drawn to the post-box and just photographed that in its entirety but you have made it more interesting by including part of the adjacent window. As you included the poster we know where you are and can guess that it’s a bit remote due to the restricted Post Office opening times.
I think this month’ theme has highlighted how red stands out and Kath’s still life emphasizes this. Sill life sounds easy but it’s quite difficult to get it right and I think strength of Kath’s photo is its simplicity and its strong impact.
John’s photo shows how this theme is making us more observant and looking for round and red thinks around us. Not always literally. It could have red in the picture associated with something round.
What’s this I hear you ask. A black and white picture for a red and round theme? My reasoning is it’s rolled up making it round and I’ve read it! That’s allowed with my rules. The other two were taken at the Nantwich show and are a bit more obvious.
