I’ve decided to make the theme for July quite simply ‘Summer Time’ which should make it easy for every member to submit a photograph of what this time of year means to them. Is it a garden in full bloom, a clear blur sky or a refreshing shower? Perhaps you’d like to share a summer break with us or one of the many summer sports or events that happen. Or can you show us something a bit different that summer means to you?
We now have a much simpler uploading process for the images you want to post. All you now do is post your picture! But we do ask that you don’t post anything too big; perhaps best to start with a typical “1400” and then, when the dialog box comes up, make it 650p wide. If it is portrait orientation make it 650p high. That’s it!
There’s no restriction on when the photograph was taken so search though your archives show us what you can produce. If you would like to suggest any topics for the monthly theme please let me know.
Thanks for kicking off this month’s theme Ken. I do like your photograph from the summer of 1968. It certainly has a good summery feel to it. The second 3D picture is very effective, but I’m not sure that I would think of flies when I think of summer.
One of the things I enjoy about summer is festivals and summer events. I just came across some Bulgarian dancers in that international cultural centre of Crewe Town Square on Sunday afternoon. I actually went down there to photograph the Colony exhibition of humming blue spheres. But the Bulgarians won the show. They were very colourful and great dancers.
Good to hear they are local. My GP is Bulgarian and great she is too. Sign them up for the club Peter, lovely people and fascinating country. The finest pure stilled “Rose” scent comes from Bulgaria. Not a lot of people know that.
