Oceanography was an early interest of mine. John”s super sea/ shorefront photo would appear to be the North Sea??? Going by the triology of the sea density and height to foreshore and wave angle  I would suggest  this is the Suffolk   shore line. Great shot , approaching high tide. The distance of the wave breakers almost submerged at high tide–I would suggest some where about near Southwold??? You would not want to fall into that sea. Bit special with the dramatic sea and looking inland…….think I would have so slightly tweaked the horizon roof line -drop left side a fraction.———–John”s delicate landscape shows how a simple subject can be so appealing.  Perhaps drop camera a little lower so as the horizon is a little lower down the tree line–.         All lovely stuff from Peter–as always.

    Hi Meg

(Ignore the post of mine that you may have received by email – I was looking at the pictures on a phone, which distorts them. (Or perhaps Peter has helfpfully adjusted them?) Anyway, I’ve deleted my original reply!)

You’ve chosen a great set of photographs, full of the vitality, wit and subtlety that we’ve come to expect from your work. Terrific contribution!

Thanks for posting these fine photographs Meg. It’s best to resize a copy of them to 650px on the long side and leave the other side blank and use 72ppi, before uploading them. Then when you upload them you won’t need to resize them. I’ve edited the dimensions on these making the width 450px and removed the height dimension.

I agree with Ian. I’ve always enjoyed looking at these images. They capture the moment of real life aptly. Great expressions and gestures.

This is whats needed for archives—these are poor quality as off camera video in poor lighting. Have several video clips with sound which they can play back in another 70 years.
