Spring is a wonderful time of year when nature bursts into life with glorious colours. You could use your creativity to show what spring colours mean to you or try something completely different demonstrating the clever use of colour emphasize your subject and create some atmosphere.

Certainly good colour harmony there, Ian.

It’s interesting to compare this version with the black and white one on the flickr site. I see you’ve cropped this to remove the guy in the high vis jacket which would had ruined this colour version. I think she stands out more here than in the B&W version.

I’m finding that his month’s theme is making look at the world in a different way I’m starting to notice how colours can stand out as in these examples I took this morning.

The Daffodils have a strong colour combination. While the second is more subtle.

I had a walk around Nantwich this afternoon looked out for colours with some attitude. It’s funny how red kept shouting at me!

Mr and Mrs Superman go shopping in Sandbach! Notice how prominent red is again.

Here’s another flag photo from Nantwich. this time I used a slow shutter speed of 1/15 to show it’s movement. The previous one was taken at 1/1000sec to freeze it.

This topic in particular is proving very successful and making us think about one particular aspect of picture making.

It is making me think so much I haven’t posted anything yet.

The light coloured hat is relatively small in the frame so highlights the girl making her the focal point against a drab background. I like the way you’ve given her plenty of space to walk into.

Thanks, Peter. But what about the colour palette? 😉

Wet, cold and miserable out today, so in front of my friend’s log fire was the place to be. (The monochrome version doesn’t really make you feel warm!)
