Bebington Salon at Crewe PS
February 27, 2014 in Crewe PS news
Tonight we had the annual visit by Bob Dennis APAGB CPAGB AFIAP BPE3* to present the Bebington Salon of Photography. The Salon is one of about 20 BPE Exhibitions which are nationals whose awards count towards the British Photographic Exhibitors Awards – that’s what the BPEs used after club photographers names mean.
Bob is amazing. He not only organises the event (this is the 11th by the way) but puts together this show and presents it himself at numerous locations.
A good collection of pictures; it was pleasing to see that the landscape section had been a success and that the montages and other altered reality creations were in a section of their own, where we can admire the skill of assembling such images and they do not displace the photographs in other sections.
One of the most pleasing things of the night was to see one of our members, Bob Brown receive his certificate for a commendation for “Official Photographer”, taken at the Tough Mudder event last year. The other celebration was nothing to do with Bebington but Bob Dennis, as a L&CPU Exec Member was asked to present Martin McGing with his CPAGB distinction which he gained at the last adjudication.
A good evening and made even more pleasant by us being joined by our friends from Alsager whose members also had numerous acceptances in the Salon.
