Tutbury Castle Photography Day

“Is there anyone here who isn’t from Crewe?” quipped Kathryn Scorah on meeting yet another of our members on Sunday. We did have a good number there because it is an opportunity to direct the re-enactors if you wish, which is harder to do at a full public event such as the Crich 40’s Days; they are there to be photographed!

There were more photographers than at the October event, but more re-enactors too. They really know their stuff too; I had an amazingly detailed lecture by one of the “Jacobites” of his regalia, including the (imitation) “Brown Bess”, his sword and a particularly fine large dirk, but the least said of that the better!

There were plenty of German soldiers present and although the ones above seemed a little lost they were an impressive lot on the whole.

The next event for photography is in October, though there are events for re-enactors there in the summer (See EVENTS).
