Congratulations to Stephen Coyne for winning the Ron Smith Trophy or his creative ‘Dali’s Tree’. Stephen has mastered the skills of manipulating Photoshop to create imaginative images. Members voted Stephen Coyne’s ‘Progression’ second and Peter Robinson’s ‘Spiderman’ third. Stephen is one of our most creative photographers and these images show how he can master Photoshop.
One of our most coveted trophies is the Ron Smith Trophy. Former member Ron Smith, who passed a way aged 101, was well known for experimenting with photographic techniques. He gave us many fascinating talks on how to create interesting images using various household equipment and improvised lighting. Ron would have loved to dabble with AI. The Ron Smith Trophy was decided upon in respect for Ron’s inspiration and is awarded to the most creative image as voted by our members. Read more about Ron here.
