John Royle’s ‘End of the Walk’ was awarded second place in our third General Print Competition by judge David Graham LRPS. Its thoughtful, well balanced composition is well framed with the trees either side and you can walk into the picture a long the path. I like the way the path leads to the sun where its brightness draws you in with the walkers. It creates a refreshing atmosphere and gives you that feel good factor.
John, a CPAGB, is one of our most attentive photographers and carefully considers the scene before releasing the shutter. This evident in the photograph above. Some of his photographs go beyond what is considered as ‘club photography’ and aren’t always appreciated by judges. He’s been our devoted and attentive Chairman for many many years and has recently retired from the role. However, he’s continuing to be our hard-working Competition Secretary. Thank you John for your hard work and devotion to Crewe Photographic Society.
