Christine has achieved a great deal of success in club photography in the last few years but, moreover, she has given back so much too. She was a successful President of the L&CPU for two years, initiating their APM Mentoring scheme as well as conducting a major survey of the Federation’s 97 clubs to enable future planning. She grew from a popular club judge to a major national and international one in that time too. She is in demand as a lecturer all over the country. All this, and she still finds the time to achieve the highest awards with her own work too; she recently gained the MPAGB (the PAGB highest award) and the ABPE (the penultimate step in the gruelling BPE ladder).
We were very fortunate to have her speak to us last night and what an evening it was! She took us through her first love of landscape photography, work with a strong personal element, though to her discovery of creative montage work where she has found her main successes in the national and international competition scene. She closed the evening with a view of her MPAGB collection and we had the added fun of being asked to guess what score each image gained from the 6 judges.
A great evening, thank you Christine.
The image here (The Collector) is one of her favourite creations which, as a new work she was actually advised not to use for her MPAGB but which, of course has subsequently proved one of her most successful!
