On Saturday (25 October) some of us will be off to enjoy the biggest print spectacle in club photography; the PAGB Inter-Club Print Championships. Up to 38 clubs (36 this year) compete; the 8 top placed in 2013 together with 2 from each of the 15 Federations.

As the prints are displayed on the stand to the three judges (Gwen Charnock FRPS MFIAP, Bob Moore MPAGB Hon FRPS FIPF Hon PAGB and Leigh Preston MPAGB EFIAP FRPS FIPF) they will be digitally projected live to give everyone a clear, colour correct view. The leading clubs especially will be anxious to present a selection of prints which are new and innovatory along with the “bankers” but none that risk failure – a low mark is a disaster! For us that means viewing trend-setting pictures and getting a feel for how club prints are going.

The event changes venue this year to Ormskirk (Edgehill University) after nearly 20 years at Deeside. Tickets have been available on this site and in the PAGB eNews for months now and advertised to members continually so if you are going you will already have your tickets, see you there!

Nearer home our PDI competition on Thursday, judged by Rob Hockney, has an entry of 101 projections, from some 22 members. The entry is a very strong one and it will be a very entertaining evening. Why not come along? – you just pay £2 attendance fee!
