The PDI section of the L&CPU’s Annual Club Competition was held on Saturday 20 March via a Zoom meeting. It was hosted by their Honorary Secretary Adrian Lines MPAGB FBPE ARPS EFIAP and judged by the experienced Gwen and Phil Charnock. 40 clubs entered up to 16 ‘Open Digital’ and 8 ‘Nature’ images.

We were presented with an automated slide show of the excellent ‘Open’ images in the first half and achieved a very creditable 8th. position, equal with South Manchester. The second half showed the ‘Nature’ images where we finished 17th against some strong opposition. So our overall position was 11th. which is excellent considering we are relatively a small club up against much larger ones.

Ian Whiston’s ‘Lion cub pouncing in mums tail’ was our highest scoring photograph with 19 points in the ‘Nature’ section. Ian also scored 18 for his ‘Cheetahs Scent Marking’. Paul Hill’s ‘Red Deer stag at Big Moor rut’ scored 17.

In the Open section Martin McGing score two 18s for his superb portraitsĀ  ‘Contemplation’ and ‘Goddess’, and 17 for ‘Dangerous’. Stephen Coyne’s ‘Fractured Flight’ scored 17 and Peter Robinson’s ‘Somerford Equestrian’ scored 17.
