This weekend the L&CPU Club Annuals were held at Lowton School and Crewe PS were one of the 42 clubs to enter the PDI section on Saturday and the 25 Clubs to enter prints on the Sunday. There are nearly 100 clubs in the Union!
We acquitted ourselves very well indeed, being in the top ten in nearly every section and finishing 11th overall in the PDIs and 7th overall in the prints.
Above you can see the four pictures of ours which scored 14/15; Clockwise from top left; Kingfisher by Wallace Baxter, First Round, First Fight by Peter Hrebien, Cheetah Watching over cubs by Ian Whiston and The Minstrel by Vicky Hrebien.
The event was brilliantly managed by the L&CPU’s General Secretary’s computer software, which doesn’t just deal with the acceptance of the entries, but even reads the titles and accepts the judges scores!
The results well and truly establish Peter and Vicky as a very strong force indeed in our general and mono sections, underlining their brilliant first season with us- may it be the first of many.
The results are being added (Download>Results) as they are published.
The club regards participation in the L&CPU competitions and other major regional ones as an essential part of what we do, nourishing the capabilities of our top workers and nurturing those just getting into competition work. We are, however, definitely not a club which regards competition as the sole function of the club. We cater for a wide range of interests in photography and if you are thinking of joining us you will be sure of a warm welcome.
