At the end of the season our federation runs a competition open to all members of its 100 or so clubs. This year one of our successful prints was Connoisseur by John Royle which gained a third place in the monochrome section. It was taken in the Murano glass museum and processed to make the picture bright (“high key”) to bring out the delicacy of the pale glass.
I took three shots and preferred this one in which she looks along the black bases of the pieces. The print was also selected as one of the L&CPU entries in the Inter-Federation Competition organised by the PAGB, the national organisation for photographic societies.
