For our third and final Lockdown League competition we were privileged to have much the sought after, and experienced Jane Lines MPAGB LRPS BPE5* as a judge. We gave her a difficult job with some top quality images on show. The Colour General section was hotly contested and Wallace Baxter won it with his classic image of a gymnast on a beam, aptly called ‘Balance’. Jane, indeed thought it was well balanced and she appreciated the girl’s expression and pose. Stephen Coyne talked his wife into modelling for him for his imaginative ‘Confined’. It came equal second with Peter Robinson’s cricket photograph called ‘How’s That’. It was great to see Jo Taylor with a third placed image called ‘First in Line’ in her first competition. Keith Mulliner’s portrait ‘Chloe with Flowers’ and Paul Hill’s seascape ‘Capturing the Sunset’ also came third.

Peter Robinson’s ‘Muddy Marvels’ ladies rugby photo won the Mono section, while Keith’s ‘Rosie sleeping in the Woods’ and Wallace’s Near Miss’ football picture came equal second.  Stephen had two third placed portrait images, ‘Man from Madagascar’ and ‘The Boy pharaoh’.

Ian Whiston once again won the Nature section with his delightful image of a playful lion cub photographed in a beautiful warm light. Kath Hill took the second spot with her ‘European Short Clawed Otter’ and Ian had his ‘Lion standing guard over buffalo’ third along with Wallace’s ‘Small Postman Butterfly’.  After the competition members appreciated  Sam Nutter’s fine art horse photographs which had a great atmosphere and emotion. Jane also thought that Paul Hill’s ‘Nature’s Patterns’ and Kath Hill’s ‘ Waiting Strangers’ would do well in a salon.
