What a superb demonstration! Gary used two projectors to present a flawless and lucid exposition of the way blending modes worked and the how he used layers to enhance his pictures. Such was his command of the software that I think it easily ranked with Barry Beckham and Barry Calquhoun in quality of presentation.
Gary’s explanation of blending modes was accompanied by a very impressive simulation and I was left with a very clear understanding of this aspect of Photoshop. I am sure a lot of members went home and, despite the hour, were on to their computers to try out Gary’s ideas.
Before we started the meeting we heard the news that new member Peter Hrebien has joined the L&CPU Judges list. Although a newcomer to us Peter and wife Vicky had a well-established career in club photography in Bury St Edmunds, Peter being on the East Anglian Federation Judges list.
Members were also reminded of the L&CPU Mentoring scheme which they can join to help them prepare their work for submission for the PAGBs awards. We are always ready to help with this too.
