At the Print Competition tonight Wigan 10 took fist place with 95 points. Chorley were a good second with 92, then Leek, NCPS, Chapel and Keswick came next, then CREWE and South Manchester.
None of our prints let us down though we didn’t have that “special one” which would have put us third – but we can congratulate ourselves on a good performance.
(L to R, Clockwise) Who’s There? – Martin McGing 17, Medic – John Royle 17, Marbled White Butterflies – Paul Hill 16, Concentration – Wallace Baxter 17 and Dawn Patrol – Ian Whiston 16= 83.
For the Print competition the appointed judge was snowed in and Christine Widdall EFIAP MPAGB BPE5* took his place – she made a superb job of it as she always does.
On Thursday night (14th February) we did brilliantly well in the PDI KO. Judged by Tony Dudley we got off to a good start with no losses in the first round – always encouraging. The second round brought 2 losses and we knew then that a respectable position was ours. In each subsequent round we lost just one image each time. The longest survivor was not the multi award winning Yellow Billed Oxpecker but the mono portait by Ian McNab – Bill, “love the lighting” said the judge.
Fourth place! Well done Crewe PS, beaten only by Wigan 10, Warrington PS (who also did very well in the GBC) and North Cheshire PS. Chorley came 18th and Nantwich 23rd. 27 clubs took part.
