We are very sorry to announce that one of our most eminent and respected members, Howard Edwards ARPS, died in hospital this morning after a short illness.

Lately, Howard was unable to attend meetings, and new members will not have met him but will know of him by the frequent references still made to his work by more established members, such was its quality.

Studio portraiture was his field, and he ran our portrait nights, and had a specialist group, too.

We were all very disappointed when he began to have difficulties with mobility and was unable to attend meetings any more. He was made an honorary life member two years ago.

Many members will want to say something about Howard and we can compile a remembrance book.

Details of the funeral will be announced in due course.
